According to the Angel Coalition, the level of trafficking of women from former Eastern European countries is just HUGE. This fits in with my thesis that this area of the world contends with endemic poverty, and as a result social problems are much exacerbated, including racism, drugs, and orphaned and abandoned children.
I found out about the Angel Coalition through DAWN, Pakistan's foremost newspaper, from an article that they authored in 2005.
