On Being A Lady

1. Don't sit with your legs wide apart in a skirt - it looks kinda slobby and not so ladylike.
2. Don't swear. The English language has some really exquisite adjectives and adverbs you can use in place of the f-bomb or other such choice expletives. Besides, swearing makes people sound a little more low-class or dumb (in my opinion anyways!).
3. Don't spit. Ever. Just don't!
4. Don't tell vulgar jokes.
5. Don't flirt too much - a bit is okay, but don't overdo it or flirt in a slutty way (and I'm sure you know what I mean).
6. Don't be one of those aggressive career women types. I firmly believe you can be a successful business woman and still be feminine and gentle (gentle doesn't equal doormat).
6. Make a man work a little bit to capture your heart - let him do the pursuing!
7. Do not engage in casual sex. A real lady has more self-worth than that, and stronger morals. I always suggest to people that they save sex for marriage because it is better for your health as well as your heart! Not only that, but men have more respect for a woman who waits than they do for someone who drops her drawers at the first chance she gets. Listen to the way men talk about women with loose morals - it's pretty ugly. Don't be one of those girls!
8. Remember your P's and Q's. Let men hold the door for you, and say a gracious "thank-you" when they do rather than being insulted.
9. Don't go the route of the drunken frat parties you will encounter. Avoid them like the plague. Also try to avoid the "girls gone wild" too, as they will just bring you down. They aren't ladies, not even close.
10. Be modest! Wear modest clothes rather than skin tight or low cut things. And have a modest attitude as well - not trying to have every man drooling over you, not loud and braggy, but rather kind and sweet and happy. Whoever said that modesty is key was correct. You can have the most ladylike behaviour in the world, but if you are dressed a bit trampy then people will still treat you like a tramp. (truth in advertising isn't just for products!).

There's probably lots that I've missed but I hope this helps! Stick to your guns. You may not be as popular with some of the girls on campus, but it's worth it anyways.
