Finland is at war in Afghanistan -Left Alliance's Lapintie

Finland is at war in Afghanistan, claimed Annika Lapintie, chairman of the Left Alliance parliamentary faction, in a speech in Joensuu, eastern Finland, on Tuesday.

According to Ms Lapintie Finland is waging a war in Afghanistan alongside the United States, but Finland's pro-Nato conservatives are trying to cover this up in their attempt to please the Americans.

Ms Lapintie also said Finland's foreign minister, Alexander Stubb (cons), had claimed only attacking constitutes war.

"Finns are not attacking. Finns are only loading the weapons of the attackers," Ms Lapintie said, adding that she thought the Finnish peacekeepers should be withdrawn from Afghanistan.
