On Convenience

Oh, Ignatieff.

"an emotion shared in the imagination across time, shared with the dead, the living and the yet to be born"

Ignatieff really needed to blatantly rip off Benedict Anderson's Imagined Communities: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagined_communities

After all, if being Canadian was about being physically present INSIDE it, or even paying taxes TO it, or contributing through volunteer work and service, he would be dead in the water.

"..is an important issue that speaks to what we—Americans—might do in prosecuting the war." Lesser Evil, Michael Ignatieff, 2004.

Not that this man would ever prosecute a war.
